PR for a site that is only a few weeks old

My website, http://www.science-facts.com, was put up at the end of December. Google Toolbar already shows some inner pages of the site to have a PR3. I'm kind of amazed by this because generally it takes forever to get a PR on a new site. Just looking for some opinions on this.

I don't see any PR on any pages.

Edit: I say this is link spam. MODS take care of this for me....

Wow that's something else. PR isn't all that important to me except for selling links, but it confuses me how I can have sites with no content or quality and get good PR, but have sites that I worked hard on have no to low PR.

Yeah right spam.. I can delete the link for all I care. I was just sharing what happened.

And yes, the main page has no PR which is what I find akward.

This PR update was very extrange, I have a domain (onemilliondirectory.com) in the same situation, registered on 15/12 and with PR4 in the 90% of the databases.

Well, since several people are reporting more PR for inner pages then for their domain, it is very likely that this is either a google-glitch or the PR-update thing isn't over yet.
Need I remind everyone that the PR that shows on the toolbar is only cosmetic? It's by definition (even when it's just been refreshed) an old PR.

Just to add to this debate....

I am wondering if Google is in a mess with its PR export or whether it is deliberate. I see many stories that make no sense to what would normally be expected and also have some examples myself, e.g.....

New site, 6 weeks old gets pr3, but is hard to find in google SERPS and has little traffic. Another site 8 months old stays at pr1 but has over 350 BL in google and is found on page 1 and 2 of google SERPS for main keywords and has quite a lot of traffic.

So if you are buying links based on a site's pr how do you know it will be there in 3 months? And is the pr really giving you any benefit? Maybe its a ploy by google to disrupt people selling pr by undermining its relevance ... if we all start paying less attention to google pr on the toolbar then it will reduce link selling?

I think its time to take focus away from Google toolbar pr and find some other more effective measures for a website's value to exchange links, etc. Anyone got some suggestions?

Well, serious link-builders haven't looked at PR for ages, because it is always a few months behind (and usually more). But the amateurs that sell based on PR on these forums (sorry guys) haven't actually caught up to that yet. You are absolutely right: focusing on PR is just not a good idea. Focusing on relevance, place in the serps, number of backlinks to it and last cache date are much more reliable metrics.

I really believe that PR is meaningless.
I have a site since 1995 with homepage PR0 with some advertising.
An inner "testing" page with no traffic ( except my own), no advertising, no outbound link, no inbound link, no nothing, and it is a PR3 !!!
    Pure BS IMO ;)
