PR but no index

Hi, I'm just wandering how a PR 3 page is not indexed in google. Does Google still count backlinks as okay from a PR3 page if its not an indexed page?

basically that was a profile page a phpbb with a PR4 but no index in google

 

This is because it's private data. You need to login in order to see the profile.

The PR is transferred throughout all the pages in the website, thus giving this profile and many others i presume, a PR of 4.

 

i don't think this is the case, because many other profiles are indexed...and...i'm pretty sure google still crawles the profile pages. Bots are capable of crawling pages that you need to be logged in for unless you restrict them in the robots.txt. I think that i've seen backlinks from phpbb profile pages...Could be wrong, but still i found that there are quite a few profile pages indexed.

 

Care to give me a profile that is indexed ?

 

I think probably you did something "bad"?? google de-indexed you and when next PR update happens, you probably will see a grey bar?

The one that wasnt indexed is a PR4

and no, Directory SEO I didnt do anything bad, i was simply examining a single page of a profile member who i don't even know. I was intrigued that there page is a PR4 but not indexed. I was wandering if Google still counts outbound links from this page as authority even though it is not indexed. I take it no one viewing this thread has ever seen this happen.
