Hi, My competitor is PR2 but they are top 10 on google. we are PR3 but we are not top 10 on google? doesn't PR reflect links? meaning doesn't PR suggest my links are better than theirs? Links is important factor to get ranking on google. is it related to on-page factors too? if yes what is the best page for seo? thanks in advance.
PR only means you have links. It does NOT mean the site has valuable content NOR that those links will increase you in serps.
Higher PR does reflect links from higher PR sites. However it does not necessarily mean those sites are relevant to your site. Your competitor might have more relevant links pointing to his/her site. Cheers mate.
This simply shows why PR should be given less and less importance. It just does not play any significant part in getting good serps and so, is useless in getting organic and real traffic! Regards, RightMan
link is not the only factor, SERP is more important than PR. Try to do some on page and get more quality links than before... SERP can give revenue but PR doesn't.
Thank you Right Man Finally someone says it plainly so it makes sense. A site with zero PR can outrank a site easily by being a site with better content that is more useful to those making the search query. I have been saying this very same thing for quite some time! The replies to follow will likely obviously disagree and further confuse things... All pages are the best place OP!
It actually means that your competitor has backlinks with anchor text of the specific keywords for which they get good rankings. If you wish to get good rankings for the same keywords, you need to get backlinks with anchor text of the same keywords from different domains. Note: the rankings/value of the domains from which you have backlinks also makes a difference in the rankings of your domain
PR does not relate to SERPS. Even PR0 sites also do rank higher in google than any other PR3s. Keyword ranking is all about the SEO strategy you implement for your sites. If you try to get more and more backlinks, you will have higher PR which doesnot mean that you will have higher keyword search rank.
Many ones above already said about the proven of "PR and SERps has no correlation anymore" already. I would recommend you checking if your site has being filtered or penalized first. You can check yourself easily without using a tool, just type your domain name without tld - domain[.com]. Your site "must" ranked at #1 spot, otherwise your site is currently filtered
PR is not so important. It just shows you got links from other sites with PR. SERP means your site is relevant to the keyword/s.
No it does not suggest that your links are better at all. You may have quantity without quality. Links from related sites and good anchor text should be your goal.
