I just don´t get it why people are so curious about backlinks. Doesn´t matter, if you have 1 or 1000, you should just work on your SEO and ranking and forget all those crap about backlinks.

Content is the King. If you have everyday fresh content on your website and use the linking system A to B, B to C, C to D, and D to A inside your website, you would never need any backlinks.

powerful backlinks from relevant sites are KING to me. About the content, my site is a company page that just serves to get prospective leads. There is very little content updating. The purpose for the client to convert and fill out a form and to present a professional image, they are all static unchanding pages except for minor things. My site does not offer information the only people visiting my site are looking for my specific service that I offer. For them to find me, SERPS is key. and relevant backlinking along with original good content that is SEO optimized is the way to go.

Ya that domain-pop is pretty cool. I just ran some sites through it and I saw some interesting data come back.

Yes. I too support the thread starter. Backlinks do matter a lot. People do look at the number of backlinks when buying a site. So, it cannot be ruled out completely..... :)
