Hello, I run a pretty new site (9 day old domain and 7 day old site) I currently get 122 Unique visitors, which is pretty good going I have subbmitted to some high PR diretorys and have a few high PR sites linking me at the moment. The fun list is what is keeping me going as a 'long term project' but if I am not getting traffic I see it as what the hell I just wasted my time. Only seven days old and you want traffic? It can take a year or more before you will rank for any competitive term in google. Submitting to a directories is a small start, but you are going to quality backlinks from trusted sites (sites that already rank well for the keyword). Spend time improving your site while you build backlinks and wait. If you can't wait 6 months or a year, you should try something else.

yes, patience has always been a key. i suggest you to keep the link building process up. Building links at relevant places will definitely help you to drive some more traffic. also join social networks like facebook, myspace, twitter
try link building and social bookmarking It takes time to get into google results pump in fresh content all the time
get more links with the PROPER anchor text.Target one big or moderate term.Do link building slowly and not get penalized.Dont hurry.
Don't confuse SEo with PR (just a number nothing more higher PR means nothing no higher traffic no higher rankings) SEO takes time so prepare to wait for results and work hard and keqap working on it ..

SEO is no sorcery. It's is clear and simple but tedious and requires patience. You need a well optimized website, relevent backlinks and time (google loves older websites)... that's it.
