    Hi,

Do you know how these things affects the page rank:
    1. Length of domain name registration
    2. Private whois record

    Thanks in advace,
    Richard.

Unless something has changed, "PageRank" is based on "Links". There is a lot of information available on the forum about this.

I've heard domains index well once they've been around for more than a year. And if you buy an old domain and change the registration info, Google will notice that and negate the value.

Pagerank has nothing to do with domain age or whois records (traffic may though). Pagerank is simply based the quality and quantity of incoming links. Nothing more.

Page rank is only based upon a site's getting links...

    Rather self serving isn't it?

There was mention of domain age in the last google patent but I've been watching Google serp's and while there are alot of older websites ranking there are also new ones and in between ones. IMO I wouldn't give it to much credance....but if your planning on sticking around why not preregister your domain name for a few years.

Couldn't hurt you any and you might save a few bucks in the long run :)

added: also as stated above PR has nothing to do with domain age. Page Rank = quality of links in
