What's your favorite method of advertising your directory? Would you like to emphasize your PR? Alexa ranking, PS or affordable prices?

We use a more flexible approach in our opinion than to focus on one factor marketing depends on a number of variables or single variables that can at any given time be impacted by market influences

So its across the board with us be ready, be prepared, then market

Same here. :D I would also consider the design and over all look of my directory. as it attracts more submissions.

The problem with a lot of directories is that they advertise the PR of their homepage but have no PR on any of the category pages where links are actually placed making the stated PR value quite misleading.

agree. though some people would not agree, but PR is definitely top factor to sell links IMO.

of course, innovative and unique are very essential, like directorydump, I can image an0n have put how much effort on it. :)

PR is the most reliable way to compare a site... it gives us something to base assumptions off of. Page strength would be good... if it was always accurate... Alexa is well... lets not talk about how Alexa functions, heeh

What you mean its always accurate what does pr actually tells? It just a factor stating on ur site got so many backlinks, what else does pr actually tells, if alexa did not rely on magic toolbar i would have voted for Alexa for sure. But PR never, it might be only good for making link sales but otherwise i see no use out of high pr link. Do users actually have time to click on bunch of links lying on the footer of a site ?

    Regards

Interesting, no one has voted on PS yet ;)

Could this be because not many know PS? though many webmasters should know that now.

I agree with you ;) In any way, we all should advertise our directories don't we?

But what would be the most important one (or one that works) for you?

I think there should some sort of Page strength tool for only directories which does not count wikipedia thing because what's the advantage of wikipedia link to directory..Otherwise SEOMOZ's PS is great tool (Plus i think age thing should be removed too :) )
