PR 7 or more ?

Getting upto PR 5 or PR 6 is not really a difficult task.. but how about PR 7, pr8 and more ?

What are the factors considered ?
Does any PR5 or PR6 site needs to be listed on a PR7 or PR8 site to get there PR increased ?

    or something else ?

    Regards,

Yes, you need good quality backlinks to achive high PR. Achieving high PR is a difficult task but, the procedures remain the same. Rember miracles happen with Google ;)

    1. More quality high PR backlinks.
    2. PR of the page where your link is placed.
    3. Number of links sharing the page along with your link.

What I guess is - To get PR5 or PR6 one need seo friendly design, some good content and few good links.

And to get PR7 and PR8, one needs something which is liked by internet community, lot of traffic, links from PR8 and PR9 .org and .edu sites.

In other words....site must have real weight to get PR7 and PR8.

If you've many quality PR4-5 pointing towards your website and your website has a lot of unique content, then just purchase a PR7 or 8 link and you would've atleast PR6.

I have seen this happen more than once.

Chances are you might even go upto PR7. Always remember, content is the king.

BTW, Maldives!! are you visiting bangkok or moved there??? I havent seen you here for past 4-5 days.

    B.S.

I achieved without visable PR about say 8 and google when your that athoritative takes 2 days to rank any word practicalling with a fresh page up to say 6 million in compitition.

Then if you say what they don't want to hear they will ban your site.

No one gets PR 8 as a individual and freedom of speach unless again you say what they want to hear.

My point is , it doesn't happen they hand pick sites past 5 google is the most babied search engine of them all with people reaching into its database and plucking sites out they don't like etc. ITs the most bias unfriendly and pathetic of all search engines , the traffic is fake generated and why would anyone optimize for it.

Yahoo Converts PPC , MSN Converts PPC , Google steals from you end of story.

PR has nothing directly to do with content or traffic - it is determined by PR passing from sites linking to your site. Obviously good content can make it easier to obtain better links - but in theory, you could have a PR8 (or whatever) site with no significant content or traffic.

Each increase in PR is approximately six times harder, so a PR7 will require six times the PR weight as a PR6. Each page can pass a total of 85% of its PR, but that is divided between the number of outgoing links on the page - i.e. a page with 10 outgoing links passes 1/10th the PR to each link vs. a page with only 1 link.

Only relevant links are going to help you with SERPS - so PR, in itself, isn't a good indicator of how you will rank if the sites linking to you are not related to your sites topic.

Coming from someone advertising PR in their sig.
Your comments are completely unfounded. I get more traffic to my network from organic search engine placement in Google than I do with ALL other engines and PPC put together.

I agree completely on the relevancy part. Related links are the best.

Unique good and a lot of content helps you more in Contextual Ad Programs.

I think he basically means Google will get you all fake traffic and its not worth anything.

Also, if you advertise using AdWords, G would take away your money by sending you fake visitors.

Which is totally on contrary to other peoples belief and on contrary to his sig as well.

It's basically pretty logical if you think like this...

PR7 means a site which is popular and in the eyes of google, popular site will have links coming from variety of sites i.e. from PR0 to PR8+, from normal blogs to news sites to portal...

But if you have few big PR8+ sites pointing to you, then there are chances of getting PR7+ but I feel google is becoming smarter these days and they will soon manage ignore purchased links and consider only natural links..

Achieving a high PR gets tougher as the PR increases. Ex: It is much easier to get from a PR4 to PR5, than getting from PR5 to PR6 and this is easier than getting from PR6 to PR7.

The Toolbar PR operates on a Logarithmic scale and getting higher PRs gets tougher as your PR goes up. So for example, if you need 10 new links of a certain quality to get from PR2 to PR3, you will need 100 new links of the same kind to get to PR4 and 1,000 to get to PR5 and so on...

Usually, it's only possible to achieve PR7 or higher if:
    1. You get one or more high PR links (PR8 or higher)
    2. It's a .edu or .gov or .govt site belonging to a real uni etc. and has heaps of links
    3. Any other site that catches the attention of the web community: MSN, Adobe, Microsoft ..... Digital Point etc.! :D

I think what someone else hit on was that G might " CREATE " fake traffic. ie. bots made to look like visitors clicking their own search links to give their appearance of large traffic volumes when in reality take the entire population of the USA x it by the amount of people with Computers take in the fact how man turn their computer actually on in a week and you get that search you think gets 1000 hits a month gets 8-->or less.

PR is only related to the number and the PR of your backlinks. Since its on a logarithmic scale a PR5 is 10 times harder to get than a PR4.

So in theory you need 1000 times the link juice to get PR8 than PR5.
