Hello, There is a PR 7 domain dropped and I catched it. How would I do to transfer its PR to my website? 1.)Create a index.html then put my site's link 2.)Just make a 301 redirect 3.).... Thanks for your opinion.
301 it to your site. Only do this if its a similar site to yours other wise you could lose your rankings (if you have any). Don't expect the PR to transfer unless the links that made it PR7 are still present.
You lucky basta... I am not sure whether you have only damain name or also the content (has the content been moved to another site?) do not 301 redirect - it would make sense only short-term, rather keep the domain and content, otherwise you loose the existing links that make it PR7 (it is much easier to keep the PR than to gain 7 from scratch). Check the PR7 site´s history by any means (logs, external analytics sites like google analytics, waybackmachine) and quickly learn how the site was maintained. Adopt the same habits and update the contant the same way as it was updated (yes you will need to make some effort to keep it alive and kicking). Have a look at links to third sites from PR7 site´s pages. 1.) Check all for potential link exchange (if those sites do not link to you already) and ask for it (only fool would not exchange); 2.) Keep all relevant links; 3.) Drop all irrelevant links (reduce number of outcoming links); and... write couple of articles covering your second sites topic and within the text of those articles leave links to your second site with nice and catchy anchors with your most valuable keywords. Use deeplinking (each link points to another page of your site). Do not concentrate those articles on one place, means if that PR7 site has various categories, write articles so that each article fits to another category. Make THOSE articles visible for SEs and your visitors (e.g. make little sidebar containing 10 MOST IMPORTANT ARTICLES, out of which 5 will be YOUR articles with links to your second site (or more sites)... etc, etc... BTW if the PR7 site also has visitors, implement online store and ads. maybe you will earn more this way...
Where can i catch a droping pr7 domain This is something I don’t see happening not even in my dreams, who is stupid enough to let a PR7 domain expire
wow, thats some amazing traffic for dropped domain. Be quick and try to leverage this domain for something.
I will do some tests, 1) I have some other domains that have PR 6, I will 301 them to my site for testing if it makes my site PR 6 or not. 2) I have checked the archive.org for the old contents, but it got too much articles and links.
I would sell links from it and make as much money as possible from it before the next google update - because odds are, it wont be a PR7 after the next update.
I agree @ BILZ If you still want to retain the PR 7.. I suggest you Link exchange or generate As many PR 8 and PR 7 links that you can Manage before PR update.... But thts only if you are looking onto a Long term plan for this domain...
your new site topic must be same as pr 7 site, because alll backlinks from that domain will be revelant so u make revelant sontent on nre domain and on pr 7 just make i good page and link it and dont sale ant links on pr 7, so your new site will also get good pr.
Alextung, higher PR doesn´t necessarily mean more visitors. I know one PR4 domain that ranks fantastic with specific games related keyword. This PR4 gets almost 10 million visitors monthly. If you know how many visitors you have (600 daily), do you also know the keywords people used to find you? If so, simply check all your backlinks and create particular pages around those keywords. E.g. if the backlink checker tells you had 8 backlinks with KEYWORD1 in the anchor pointing at your yoursite dot com/blabla-KEYWORD1-blablabla.html, just build page with the same (or even more optimized) KEYWORD1 URI, add optimized KEYWORD1 title tag, KEYWORD1 description and all the KEYWORD1 seo bullsh.t and youre done. As for the PR decrease - it´s not that hot. Those sites that link to your PR7 would have to drop all that links to decrease your ranking. Now look at it rationally. How many webmasters check manually (I mean click through and read again all the content if it was not changed) the links they have given? None, man. They all use some dead link checking tools. These tools do not rank the content, they only check if the landing page of the link really exists. Provide them with satisfactory result (no dead links) and there is no reason for loosing the pagerank.
Thanks Kaudo, If I check its backlinks by google, and rebuld its links with the keyword even with seo, the PR will still exist? Because the domain's PR is from many other sites' PR, right?
I sold a PR7 a couple of years back. It was getting 30,000 visits /day, twice a year for two weeks each time. The new owner spammed Google with database-driven content. Got banned from G and eventually lost its PR. What a shame.
alextung - yes, you are right. if you keep the incoming links you keep the PR. PR can change based on the PR change of the sites that link to you, but you will never influence this. acroplex - at least you got the money
