Check waybackmachine/archive.org to verify if they have been directories always. Check the backlinks, indexed page and domain registration to see if a dropped domain and some PR freak has loaded his shit on it.

    If above true

Yawn and delete the email. :)

Apart from the dropped domain issue you can also check if the pagerank is faked by using something like info:difficultwordsinfo.com

Its stated as PR6 but they need to update their site and emails its currently a PR5.

Do not worry about the PR. The quality of the type of site will give you little.

Even if it is real. Look into the contents, keywords, and categories they have. It might be irrelevant to your site.

    Hello...

Yes its one of these bums from here that collects emails (Via Free directory submissions)
and then buys dropped domains with High PR for the suckers that chase it and will either PM you
with his great offer (that will lose PR within a month) or will email you his garbage in hopes to make a buck.

I just got that crap today in my spam mail. (will be changing my email today)

In the recent PR update all these 3 directories are PR0 and dropped from Google's index.

Unless you get a link for the directory's home page, it won't matter.
