PR 5 On Subpages

    Yo,

Well at long last I have hit the magical and elusive (at least for me) PR 5 ranking on my website. Perhaps it's not the best of indicators, but when you build your website honestly and with no shortcuts it feels good to have your efforts be reflected positively somewhere.

Here is my question (after all I'm not just showing off haha), my main page is still PR 3! I have two PR 5 pages and two PR 4 pages actually (out of about a hundred).

So does anyone have any tips on spreading out those well ranked pages, especially towards the main page? Is the whole nofollow thing to "direct" the PR juice still effective?

    Thanks!

Interlink. Pass the link juic from PR5 to the other page and from it to the other. But make the links one way

PR sculpting is no longer effective. So you will not be able to use nofollow to boost the PR of your homepage. There's a good article on SEOMOZ which shows you other ways to do that though. Can't remember the direct link but it's definitely within the last 10 posts on their blog.

The best option here would be building links (external ones) to the homepage.

The PR doesn't matter anymore, Big G can wipe your site off the index in any moment thats why its better to make many small sites than one big one

If you would like to spread your inner pages page rank to home or important page then you should use rel="nofollow" at other link at that high pr page and your pr will go for only important page only.

this is something I never heard before. Usually I see that the inner page has a lower pr than the home page.

I dont care about subpage, just focus on main site.

your page pr is higher than main page just because your subpage have linked by other high pr sites

Try building a couple of more backlinks to your homepage.
Make sure that all pages of your site link to your homepage.
On the High PR Pages, nofollow all the outbound links etc.

Why "many small sites"? I would prefer "many big sites". I understand you don't want all of your eggs in one basket. But make all your baskets BIG!

    AdSenseLand,
I have to agree with the rest. These days PR means nothing (even though I do get excited still when my PR goes up). Focus on SERPS and traffic. Do a search in google on your key word(s), and more than likely you will find sites in the top 10 with little or no PR. It doesn't mean much anymore.

If you want to reach that higher PR, it's basically high PR incoming links to your homepage. PR sculpting really doesn't work anymore from what i've been reading, AND you are wasting valuable time doing that when you could be working on traffic generation techniques.

Just my 2 cents, but congrats on the PR anyway.

Thanks everyone for their comments. Since the nofollow thing (PR sculpting) does not work any more I won't worry about it much.

    how about this.
Link the PR5 page to " A blog post or high pr page '
then post another comment on that same page with a link to your homepage?

    maybe? anyone ?
