I have bought this site in the last week of Nov. So stats are from that date only.

When I bought this site, I have big plans to get this site going to the previous stage (as per the previous owner, it used to get 500 unique per day). Note that the previous seller neglected the site for few weeks before selling. And hence the drop in traffic and unfortunately I could not get my time around to update the site and actively market. So I decided to put the site in right persons hands for to see its high potential.

The few actions that I took are submiting the site to many directories and did some link exchanges especially with other high PR sites and few link sales(all links that are sold will expire in the first week of January, except 2). NO advertising done since no updates are made.

Revenue Produced - Not Sure - I haven't really put any advertising on the site until recently and made couple of bucks from Chitika.

No. The site handles various types of content like jokes,pictures,multimedia. The site does not use any automated script since writing one would be very difficult for such a wide content material.

All pages are html, the content pages that are php pull information from the url.
Example:
The picture pages: http://www.smartmindmedia.com/pictures/animals/index.php?id=18&pic=18
The index page pulls the text for this picture from 18.txt in the /pictures/animals/ folder. Same thing for the picture.
The next and previous buttons are simple +1 and -1 for id= and pic=

All the content pages are setup like this.

No, I just redirected the forum link to my another forum and forum DB or licence are not included.

It has been observed that 10% of the site does not show up correctly in Firefox.

Exactly how many of those IBLs will expire? and what is the PR and content-specificity of the pages where they currently reside?

I could not understand your questions completely but I will try to answer.

What do you mean by IBLs?

If you are talking about the links on the left hand side column, 4 of them will expire in first week of Jan,06 and 2 of them will stay until first week of March. All rest are link exchanges.

If you are talking about the links that belong to this site on other sites, well, they will stay as long their links stay on this site. I have submitted to directories manually and they will stay there once they are accepted.

About PR: The main page has pr 5 with www in the url. And the rest of the pages mostly have PR 4 and few PR 3.

Thanks for the heads up. Just noticed the problem. It must be easy to fix as it is made with tables in frontpage.

90% of the site works great in firefox, only 10% has to be fixed as per my check of all pages right now.

Unfortunately I do not have much time to fix that and hence the buyer has to fix it after the sale.

Nevertheless, the site works great for IE and my stats on all my sites show 90% visitors from IE.

And if the sale can only go through after fixing everything, I may as well keep this nice site and monetize.

How much work DO you put in? For example, it has a daily crossword, is that just static?

 

Updating one or two sections everyday should only take few minutes. It is manual updating, no script or feed.

About the daily crossword puzzle, it opens up a pop up and there the crossword is offered by a site "bestcrosswords.com" and it changes everyday in the popup.

Is the content automatically updated with a script or a feed? Or do you update the content manually if so how long does it take you?

 

I misunderstood his question.

Coming to the content updating, it has been explained in my first post.

Because of the various types of content like pictures,videos, illusions, games there is not automatic updating or feed. It is manual updating.

It is like you have to name the files properly and place them in appropriate folders and link them with proper urls. Then the PHP files will pull the data using those urls.

Once you understand the updating procedure and have the content ready, it all depends on how fast you can update manually. I update one or two sections everyday and it takes few minutes only.

Please note that the sections are many like videos, pictures, magic, soundboards, games, flash, animations, etc. Updating say two sections a day and the main page would be sufficient enough to make visitors to come again and again.

More over, I never saw any automatic script doing all this for such a huge content.

It takes 22meg space and used 900MB bandwidth so far in December.
