    - what script is running the site? custom/bought?
    - there's no way to submit new sites? Is that so? If so, where'd the data come from, is it a dmoz scrape?

    I created the script, so it is a custom script. You can add your site by selecting the category and sub category where you want to include your site. The click the Submit URL link to add your site.

    The site is averaging 40 - 80 submission per day.
