When did you get this PR? Today? Interesting. Very strange how you could get a PR2 with little backlinks. Is it an old website or something?
A PR update occured about 45+ days ago. It's too early to start talking about PR updates. I'm sure that yours got a PR 2 back then and you happen to notice it today.
We just updated our sites 15 days back but their was no PR then http://www.onlinemusiclovers.com/ PR 2 http://www.onlinemovielovers.com/ No PR One went up to 2 and other still at 0 which i notices few days back
There's strange things happenning recently with PR shown on the toolbar. I came across a site that had a PR 0 homepage a couple of weeks back. Now its homepage is PR1 and strangely it has a PR5 inner page.
Their are so many sites and it is not possible to update all of them , so pr update keeps moving on .
I have also seen few changes on PR on few sites but this is defiantly not update. The actual PR update is supposed to be held in between Oct 05 to 12th 08. Meanwhile google is making extensive changes on few datacenter because some Major PR change with Algo is coming on next updates.
The back link function of a Google search doesn't find all of the links Google knows about. If you sign up for Google webmaster tools they show you a much larger number of links. My site shows 33 links on a Google search but webmaster tools shows 1400+
It is a common thing. I some times show PR 5 website with 0 backlinks. Google hides backlinks of the websites. Check the backlinks of your website in the yahoo or with the help of google webmaster tool you can see the actual backlinks. Recently google has updated the PR. One of my blog also got the PR after 1 month of PR updation. No idea about the page rank updation.
Maybe Google is experimenting with updating google toolbar PR on the fly. Would be awesome, no more PR update threads.
