1. I have about 16 pages indexed by google (small site). 2. My site has a Page rank of zero (google toolbar). 3. I am listed in several directories (only oneway links), however I am credited with zero inbound links. (These links are credited in msn and yahoo) So, can anyone suggest why I have zero PR and zero inbound links credited? I am sure I am not banned, as I am getting crawled and am indexed. Is this just one of those things where you have to be patient and wait?
There are several possible reasons why you have 0 PR and 0 google links: A: Google only lists a sampling of your inbound links usually. Your links are just from (free?) directories. Those links are really weak and don't help PR and Google discounts them. B: You haven't optimized your site for SE's by putting in the right keywords, etc. C: You are still pretty new and small. D:You don't have enough relevant content. Perhaps too many ads?
As you know, Google doesn't show you PR and link count instantly, though it does take incoming into account immediately. The best way to look at links is at Yahoo by typing in linkdomain:mysite.com -site:mysite.com
Free directories doesn't count much of it...improve your link popularity...exchange links with quality and trusted sites...create articles and submit them to article directories...join forums and put your site on its sig and by joining forums you'll definitely learn a lot...
