Hi all, Two of my clients operate two different businesses that sell the same product. One client is ranked well organically for custom window treatments and the other client is using PPC adwords to rank for the keyword. My client that is ranking well organically is doing well over 150K in business from that keyword alone and the other has lost over $27k in ppc and only got a few conversions. Btw, the websites are very similiar. Can anyone help me understand this? acustomwindowtreatment.com and homeblindz.com
Why are you saying they are similar? They are not similar at all, they just sell the same kind of product, that's all. They both sell blinks but not even the same brand or kind. For example, one sells roman blinds, the other doesn't. My guess is that the second site is the one doing better but I'm probably wrong. For one thing, I don't know anything about your campaign: keywords, ads, landing page. Obviously, one does a better job at converting as well as ranking well organically, not easy to combine the two. I also don't think you can compare organic visitors with paid visitors. That's what you are saying, right? One does organic only and the other PPC.
When I say similiar I meant that as a searcher, if I came across these two sites I'd figure they sell the same thing. These two sites do have exactly the same inventory and market the same inventory. I am helping these guys rank for other keywords that are relevant to their products, like roman shade , shutters, etc.... Any way the second site homeblindz.com is not doing very well where the other site is doing so much better. Plus this site: acustomwindowtreatment.com is using a 302 redirect and for some reason he is ranked #5 or 6 for the term custom window treatments with very little optimization.
