I received a RFP from a client that does not what to disclose their budget. They sent over a list of keywords and want us to quote a price. Should we just list what the cost will be to have the keywords listed in ad positions 1-3, 4-6 etc. Anyone have any "standard" responses to RFP's. Not sure how to spec it out. What type of info to give and in what detail.
You need to ask them their goals in terms of ad positions and conversion costs. We generally make an estimate at different budgets to give them a predicted recommended budget and management cost.
Request For Proposal. It's when a company is seeking products or services and simply saying "give us a proposal". Governments use this all the time, some jurisdictions you cannot hire directly on contracts over a certain amount and they must issue a RFP, even if they know there's only one possible supplier. They'll tell exactly what they want and assign points for each thing they expect. The winner is the supplier with the lowest cost per point.
