    Hi
I am working on a startup which will provide development services for iPhone, Android and Facebook apps.

    Here are my goals:
To get at least 10 projects in a month to reach break even in 4 months. Each project will typically have a price of $3K.

I am looking for targeting keywords like create iphone app, iphone app development, create android app, hire iphone app developer, hire ipad
app developer, create facebook app, custom app for facebook etc.

I am looking for an expert advice on what should be marketing strategy here?
Please note that I am bootstrapping so maximum I can only afford to spend $500 on marketing per month. Due to my limited budget, I think SEO is the right option to go for. But then I am not sure how long (3 months, 6 months, 1 year??) it will take to get 10 projects a month using SEO. As per my research there is high competition on above keywords (as per google tools), assuming 5% conversion rate on leads - do you realistically think SEO or PPC can pull my business idea?

    Your help is much appreciated

I think SEO is right to go for as well. I dont have much experience with PPC but Ive decided not to on purpose. Ive been see some on warriors forum and some articles some places that statistics are showing PPC clicks are going down more and more. I guess people are getting desensitized to them

PPC will just cut your budget to half. Better invest in SEO as this benefits your project in the long run. Google tools does not give real accurate results so manage your expectations with the competition. Have you tried searching for your keywords in Google and looking for websites that uses the keywords you are intending to use?

Here is a simple answer. If it is urgent/need to get immediate results then go with PPC if you've a budget. If not, then SEO is the only and best choice to get visitors and to turn them into customers (it depends on you) and also to save lots in marketing budget.

I agree with Rain, SEO all the way. Even though PPC can drive a good amount of quick traffic to your website you'll only know how it converst after spending a possibly large amount of money, specially on those keywords.

Do some tests with PPC traffic initially to test your conversion rate and then tweak/test out changes accordingly. Then once you have improved your interface work on your SEO for a long-term solution.

Try going for SEO first before going to PPC. It's the free alternative and if you don't get the traffic you're looking for then try going down the PPC route. You can always implement social media traffic and blog commentating to help with your marketing strategy.

I recommend both Organic Search Engine positioning and pay per click advertising because your ultimate goal should be to dominate the major search engines and the way to do that is by simultaneously using both strategies.
