Before I start, I'd like to thank everyone who participates in this forum for sharing their knowledge...it has been very helpful to me. That said, I'm looking for an explaination of a concept I haven't wrapped my head around: paying a PPC company (broker/vendor) for the right to put a link on your webpage only to have them pay you back XX.xx $'s for yy clicks. This form of marketing/bartering is new to me. Also, can someone touch on the bidding process involved in PPC programs? Thanks much
I think you might be mistaken about the concept of PPC advertising, or maybe I'm mis-understanding the question. I'll use google as an example. They have the adsense program. Website publishers can display these links for free, and they get paid x amount for every time someone clicks. Then they have the adwords program. Say I was selling shoes, I'd place bids for x amount on various keywords relating to shoes, and pay that amount every time I receive a visitor through my ad being clicked. The two are independent of each other. One pays publishers for advertising, and another charges advertisers to place ads, if that makes sense. Hoped that helps, -Scott
Thanks, Scott...that did help. I was looking at the process from one side only, from the point of view of the publisher. I appreciate the help.
Well as a pubilsher of any network you get paid for display the asd and having people click on them (PPC). As a publisher you wont have to pay anything, you get paid.
