Which option is better for PPC, Google or Facebook? I recently launched a Penny Auction site and I am looking for ways to bring some traffic to it.

That would depend on the amount of money and time you are willing to spend. Either way, it will cost you. Google ads can cost a fortune if you don't get your keywords cheap enough, then you may not be making any money for your pocket for some time. Facebook on the other hand, I haven't really seen much difference in that either. I have campaigned on Facebook for 2 months now, and have received hits, but ZERO sales on my store site. Where I noticed a difference was after getting this other program I found. It was at "youfounditworld" and it showed me how to get all that traffic that I was receiving between google and facebook, but it cost me no money to do it for ads. Might want to look into that one. I have spent well over $2,000 getting my store off and running, and made less than $200 doing it. Frustrating.

Adsense would be the way to go, Facebook would likely miss it's mark and bring in traffic that's useless unless you did your research with ad copy and targeting.

I have started running campaign on both Facebook and Google and even though Google is sending more "clicks", the number of conversion is higher from Facebook traffic.

Google is better than Facebook. It is more effective and more quality traffic than Facebook.

    Hi,
I think facebook ads are quickly gaining in popularity, is arguably the most exciting, targeted and effective new medium of advertising in the online marketer’s toolbox, and appear to be a very beneficial tool for small to medium businesses attempting to increase traffic with PPC. I have tried both Adwords and Facebook ads and my results have been similar. Facebook gets you a visit but Adwords gets you a purchase. :)

i suggest for Google unless your target market can get it more well in Facebook.
For sure Google bring more traffic than Facebook. And i personal find out that Google did better ad sense which easy to trap customers attraction than FB.

For genuine traffic i prefer to choose Google, because FB you may get some junk traffic, you can't trust those incoming links.

Just went recently through the similar process and also for the auction site. I can echo what many have said here - got plenty of traffic from Facebook but conversion rate was virtually zero. Google did much better in that regard, so I would recommend Google, but it does depend on the keywords that you need to use. I did well because I am targeting a specific market.
