I want to run a simple, honest, spam free, adwords or adcenter campaign. But that doesn't work, these major ppc companies want spam. Instead of setting up relevent keywords and sending people to my home page, where folks should start on my site, adwords and adcenter want landing pages. A special page for each keyword/keyphrase, with those phrases manipulated to look important to search bots. How is that not spaming the index? How is that not adding a lot of junk pages to the internet? So here I go, changing my site. Not for useability, but to set up some spammy landing pages in an attempt to please google and msn so they will show my ads. They say to design pages for users, but discourage that with all the instructions on how to manipulate the quality scores. Can't all these smart people at google and msn figure out how to reward companies that want to run a simple, straight forward, campaign - without making it so damn difficult to do it honestly?
You shouldn't be changing your whole site because of a single PPC campaign. Is it a CMS or static site? Best solution is to add a new post/page which is optimized for the campaign, but leave the rest of your site user, not bot, orientated.
