PPC Campaign question (Adwords)

Wanted to ask a few of the experts here. I have someone that will give me 5 keywords with a 25 mile radius on top 3 adwords spots 24/7 with unlimited clicks. Does this sound legit and is it worth it or not? I know there is a lot more to it, but for basic stuff.

    Thanks
    Teddy

What is specifically meant by unlimited clicks?

Also, when you say someone that will "give you" keywords, do you mean tip you off as to what they are, or be willing to drive traffic to your site, or something else entirely?

He said unlimited clicks. One flat fee for as many clicks as you get . No limit

They will be my 5 keywords I give him, and he will have my website and phone number for contact in the ad.

    This is what he said.

It sounds like a legitimate way of doing things, but I'm a little concerned about the flat fee regardless of clicks. What that says to me is that you're giving him a direct incentive to send as few clicks as possible - they will cost him money, so if he were profit-maximising he would reduce them and minimise his spend. It also gives him no incentive to report his results to you so you will have no idea what the performance of those ads will be in relation to their potential unless you arrange for him to send you reporting data.

I suggest negotiating so that you are paying for the clicks he sends you, as it's much more equitable. It also gives him the incentive to make the ads higher quality and better performing so that his CPC is lowered. Also look into what sort of reporting he's promising, so you can keep tabs on his performance.

Is this from your own account or theirs? If from yours and he's just managing for a set fee, you'll get unlimited clicks as long as you pay Adwords for those clicks. Of course, in a set period of time, the number of clicks is limited dependent on the number of searches for those keywords.

But if managing from their own account, I see unlimited as meaning "as long as we still make a profit. When the cost of clicks gets near a certain level, we stop the campaign".

    Hi Ted,

I agree with Eschatonic. Giving them a flat fee provides an incentive to minimise the clicks they send. It’s not a good way to go about things.

Look into giving them a percentage of each conversion he creates or something instead perhaps. It creates an incentive to run the campaign well.

    Good luck!

I talked to them again. He did say it will be a new campaign and they would show me a report every month. He assured my it would be for top 3 spots on top OR on right. They try for the top and after a little bit they usually can get it there with quality score and a few other things. I guess the downfall I see would be if I cancel they will pull it off and all the quaility score and stuff will not matter anymore. But it will have all my info (website, text, number) in the add..

What do you guys think now?

Would I be better off doing it myself? I wonder if I can get up top with $300-$350 month with 5 or more keywords. I am not that great at adwords.
