One should choose the best possible strategy (PPC or SEO) according to their requirements. It depends for what you are looking for. Both are equally important SEM strategies. SEO along with PPC will definitely give you quick as well as long term results.
Great comments by all and its all relevant. shahab6 has done the maths and seo is long term but the conversion rate says it all that's what count otherwise plenty money in the water. iloverp.com puts it in context if you need speedy short term results and have the budget go ppc regards G
In order to make the most of your marketing campaign, you must combine paid efforts (PPC etc) with unpaid ones (SEO)...since both have their own advantages... Its highly recommended to test the profitability of keywords via PPC first. This allows you to test a large number of keywords, and to measure the results on a keyword by keyword basis. This information can then be used to target effective, high-impact keywords for your natural search efforts.
SEO should most definitely be a long-term goal as once you rank it is "free" traffic as opposed to you having to pay for each visitor. That being said, PPC can be a great way to get traffic too if you are converting well.
PPC: Fast way to earn money in short time but need specific and deep knowledge with latest updates. SEO: Long term efforts with daily updates with basic knowledge. As simple it can be good luck.
Depends on your PPC strategy. It can be expensive if you get it wrong. I would suggest 80% SEO and 20% PPC. Only if the PPC expenditure is exceeded by your sales every time. Doesn't have to be by much but once you start losing money, change course. PPC is very competitive although long-tail can still be cheap. I like the instant results PPC brings but SEO is a longer-term business strategy.
SEO for longer result and more traffic and PPC for faster result. In SEO and PPC you have to pay to to on top.. but once you pay for SEO you can be on top for months and with PPC when you'll stop paying you will fall.
PPC can be used long term too, its not just for a quick spike, some sites use PPC very well to make sure that searchers dont forget about them, have you noticed how when you search for something you might see ads for the product/company for the next week or so? Even if you dont click the ad it will remind you of the web app that you were checking out or something else. You might be on youtube, amazon or a blog and see an ad for the company you were interested in.
Is it better to stick to long term SEO strategies or add a PPC to my marketing tool? I would really appreciate some professional advice here. Please send in your thoughts and opinions to the post.
