Hi, I recently started advertising with Facebook ads. I wonder if anyone here has significant experience with Facebook pay-per-click and would like to share his/her insights/best practices. Questions for example: 1. In order to gain higher CTR a. - do you put on the ad images that look like a Facebook profile? b. - should the text message be short and simple or long and informative? 2. Is it useful to switch between CPC and CPM bids? (Once your CTR rises above 0.1% CPC becomes higher than CPM) 3. How narrow should the target audience be without becoming negligible? (Meaning I can target Nebraska's 35-44 year old men who likes to Ski since it's the best performing audience for my business, but then again I might get less than 1 click/day ) Thanks for any sharing
1 a) not necessary b) short and simple is good. Something which is funny/interesting/humor, etc 2) Facebook has huge user base. So CPM may not be a valid way. You will be served impressions very quick. I prefer CPC and used it only for my campaigns 3) How narrow you target, better the chances of to get rid of those unwanted clicks
Many thanks, krishnaegurus ! I already start to see significantly better results on the more targeted ads (narrow audience).
Hi, a very important advice, if you driwve traffic off FB, you pay more for the same advertising!!! so if you advertise your fanpage, that cost lot less than a website outside FB Hope it helps Regards Georgina
I also prefer CPC on facebook ads.. the more narrow your target market is the better chance of you get quality click. The key to most ads for me are split testing and changing IMAGE.
