Hi Im new here, Im just wondering if anyone as heard of 'Power Over Wireless' the transfer of electricity to things such as cell phones without a cable. It works similar to charging the battery of an electric toothbrush. Anyone heard of it?
I've never heard of Power Over Wirless, but I know that Nikola Tesla was interested in the wireless transfer of power.
The possibility's would be huge. If you can transmit large voltage. Like Electric cars that never need charging.
I heard about it: At the beginning of the 19th century there was a wireless power transfer - even though it lost 80 of it's capacity - it worked. I wonder why this technology is still not in use. Solar energy from Africa would save the Europe and the planet!!!
Certain powerful individuals and organizations have a vested interest in keeping this technology from being fully utilized.
This seems like such a difficult thing to do in practice, but ultimately feasible, I guess. Also, tesla, do you really think there is some sort of global conspiracy to keep this stuff underground? Sean
Well - you can try with some googleing. Of cource there is - if you are president of ... and you need a lot of money for election - you have to take them from somewhere - and that's usualy big companies wich "sponsor" you. Of cource you are helping them sell their product. It's normal and usual stuff for politicians, and if world society stop religious wars and material thinkigh that world will become a lot better Now serious - no i don't think so. If they could do that - they will - this will save a lot of money and will make everything cheaper and will mean that people can spend more money over stupid cheap things instead of expesive and unefective electricity.
Yeah its a very interesting topic, but i wonder if anything in the world does work like that? - Prilep
Ive heard that a number of systems are in development pirticularly by Universities, I think its a facinating movement with the electrical technology market which could alter how use many electrical devices and applications. The electrical side appears to be so indepth and complicated there are various interpretations of this technology. One day it could be used to make renewable energy generation more accessible. That would be cool.
According to an article on the BBC site Wireless Energy is beginning to take off. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6725955.stm It also has a name WiTricity, pretty cool concept when they make it safe
