Just joined the network several days ago and would like to know if you can help me out with the following. I have pointed about 2500 weight to a site of a friend of mine. His site is somewhat new and the targeted keywords are not competitive at all. There used to be only about 10 pages linking to his site at the most. It has been 3 days and MSN reports 120 backlinks now, seems good but here comes the problem... The first 8 results are all from sites from the co-op that have absolutely nothing to do with the subject. Can you say from this it is not advisable to use a site with the co-op that does not have enough normal linking power or do you have another idea what is going on and what to do next. Thanks!
Its been said a 100 times. Its not a magic wand nor should it replace SEO in general. People commonly complain when they submit a new site to a directory and then it outranks them. This is the same principle and is exposing lame SEO. Do a little work and then the Coop Network will add some benefit.
Yeah, yeah I know all that. My question is whether or not you should use the co-op for new sites with few links pointing to it. Should you have a solid site with plenty or steady backlinks first or is it also possible to use co-op and later on add some decent, steady backlinks. Also I am pretty astonished that the entire MSN database for this searchtem is f*** up. If a normal person enters the searchterm the first real result is nr. 9 and probably by tomorrow cannot even be found on the first page..... Ofcourse this is a serious flaw from MSN as well and therefore I would like to know if it is advisable to use the co-op for new sites or not.
Just leave it and build some backlinks from directories and relevant sites. Most new sites I have this forum ranks above them initially
LOL, have to disagree though. Overall am getting pretty good results, I have even started using it almost as often as google. Also all my traffic is coming from msn/yahoo so I am biased... Thanks for reply Round, those are the answers I was looking for. Have to find some directories/link partners now...
