As we all know that .edu and .gov back links are very powerful links. If you manage to take even 50 these types of back links then your half of the link building done. Why is it so? I think Google gives importance to these domains because these are to help the society. .edu means educational stuff hence it is helping the society similar .gov also. We should know this well that Internet is for helping the society not for doing business directly. All of you are invited to share your experience about it!!!
Yes Google gives more authority to the .edu and .gov domains, so IF you can get a link on one I do know for a fact they work!
Yes that's right. Sites with the extension .gov and .edu are considered as trusted sites by Search Engines and getting backlinks form such sites will help you in increasing PR for your site.
I would avoid .edu blogs or forums that are heavily spammed, as it reduces the power of your link. You will be better served finding a blog with little (if any) comments, then leave a thoughtful comment there that adds to the conversation. Your comment will have a better chance of being accepted if you use your real name in the "name" section.
Not really. Nofollow just passes a much smaller amount of link juice and helps break that newbie pattern of all dofollow links.
I think it do help but the link you get from these sites should be natural link, one well managed natural link which you get from these sites by contributing there will be far more better and stronger than 50 spammy links.
.edu , .gov , .info , .aero, .net are consider more trusted, have valuable/unique content. That's why search engines especially MSN/Bing give more respect to links generate/come from it.
I take a nofollow edu or gov link every day over, for example, a dofollow blog comment link. Do you think Google really ignores nofollow links? SY
You can buy info and net domain from every domain registrar. I prefer net over info, but, to say the truth, I do prefer an exact keyword match info domain than, for example, a com / net / org that doesn't contain my exact keyword(s), SY
For me this whole .edu .gov thing does'nt make sense. Anyone can buy a site like that. Personally I think and firmly trust that content is what makes a site. A that site makes the power of your link. Not what domain it's from or how you got that link. If I got a link from BBC.com that could beat so many .gov or .edu links. Simply bcz of content. hmmmmm and I'm sure domain age has some weight as well. Link Builders should really stop focusing on the silly things such as .gov.edu, focus on getting good links from relevant sites with the best and most read content.
I believe that relevance is greater than any .edu or .gov link, if you get a good natural link on a good website relevent to your own I would take that over an edu or gov
Thanks guy to share the knowledge, it's really hard to get .gov and .edu links any resource will be helpful.
take a look at there.... people just see from their own experience that edu/gov links helped them to move their site's ranking.
