How many different power connectors since the AT came out? Really I just need to know how many ATX versions have been made. The old AT boards used the P8/P9 style connector. Then came the 20 pin ATX. Now we have the 20+4 ATX. Have I missed any? I ask because I just found out that the 20 part of the 20+4 is not the same connector as the 20 pin ATX. Found that out by buying one as replacement for an existing system. I can get a converter to go from the 20+4 to the 20. I just want to make darn sure their isn't another one hiding out there. I would like to get the right part the first time. I want to use a 2007 PS with 2000 motherboard.
my mobo has a 24 and a 6 pin square that both use for power....you should be ok, but I would also consider not getting as strong on PSU...you can get weaker ones with the right connection, and since your mobo is that old you probably don't need that much power...
