Potential adsense earnings for PC & Console gaming news website?

    Hello all,

Does anyone know the kind of return that is likely to come from video game traffic, offering news, screen shots and video's for PC and other game consoles?
Most traffic is likely to be gallery based, people looking at screenshots, though images would be shown medium size with ads on the page, and be shown full resolution when clicked on.

I have good connections with large sites and a fairly large budget that's needed to get high traffic.
But, I also realise it's important to think small at first, and so, the question is, what kind of traffic would you expect to need in order to take away just $1 using adsense alone.

Feel free to give me an estimate for showing each pageview two to three CPM banners if you can, though this is more of an adsense question as in the beginning it may be the starting option..

Lets just use a theoretical number, If I had a solid 100,000 uniques and 1 Million raw pageviews per moth, Not impossible given my connections and the budget, what would you expect the site to be able to turnover? From PPC and CPM if you wish to add that.

    TIA Guys ;)

with your connections giving you that much - 100,000 uniques - you can earn some pretty good income. It will most certainly cover the expense of your daily java cup!

Well lychee, it's ok to say that, but my concern is that because most traffic is likely to be screenshot serving, even with an adsense ad shown per impression, adsense would require far more users than normal to generate just $1, perhaps even 10x more due to the users focus and intent.
That would change a normal $1-3 eCPM from adsense into something like 0.1-0.3 eCPM which wouldn't be one heck of a return if I also spend $10,000 for the first 3-4 months promoting it, all spend and no gain, it would bankrupt me.

My worry is because I have no experience with galleries you see, and don't have any faith in being able to make even $100 from 100,000 uniques that view 10 pages each via adsense with the users focused on looking at images of video games.

What would you expect 100,000 uniques and 1,000,000 raw impressions to make on an image gallery using adsense?

Though gaming niche is one of the worst, you can still make some $$ with such amount of traffic..

    thanks Gregory,

There seems to be a general acceptance that it would make some money from adnsense, I know video gaming brings around $1.5-$2.5 eCPM from adsense atm.

I Just can't make viewing screenshots and adsense click in my mind, Would you agree that I could scrape 50c-$1 eCPM from adsense with such gallery based traffic? just 50c would be acceptable to me.

Of course I know adsense isn't the only solution, CPM, affiliate program's and privately negotiated ad deals are a good source too ;)
    Care to recommend any?
