First time poster so I hope I'm in the right area. Need some help with sitemaps, crawling and how it's all related.
Articles for my website used to be indexed quite quickly, appearing high on the first page of Google within 10 minutes of posting. Now this is taking up to 24 hours or not being indexed at all. The nature of our website means that content has to be searchable quickly. We run sports analyses and predictions and often have just 24 hours between matches, so getting indexed quickly is crucial. A considerable percentage of our posts are driven through Google searches, so it's frustrating when they aren't up at all.
We've analysed Webmasters Tools and the crawler is coming to our site regularly - say between 20-30 times a day, but a new post is not going up. Sitemap is submitted and all of that, basically nothing changed from when we had almost instant indexing vs now.
Any ideas on what might be causing this?
