Posts or Pages?

I have some unique content that I'm going to place on my Wordpress blog. The theme I'm using allows me place them on the homepage or not, so this isn't a problem. But I was wondering whether to make them posts or pages.

From what I understand the older posts will be pushed into the archives and diminish the effectiveness of the article. Is this correct? Or does it matter? Just trying to find out from a SEO standpoint which is best.

    Thanks

A post and a page are no different, they are both a URL with content, HTML and images.

How they are linked to makes a difference, having a link to either in your sitewide nav will give it more visibility/authority.

How is it better to add content with a post or a page?

According to bank it's the same, it matters how I link it though. In this case I guess the posts will be better even though the front page is static because that way they'll be linked directly to the post. The pages would be in the drop down menu or I'd have to put them in the sidebar.

    Thanks

Shouldn't matter as SEO will be the same for both.

It doesn't matter for seo, but while doing URL optimization we will get some difficulty.

If you have a lot of posts, the post may not appear on the front page of your blog ( This of course depends on the number of posts you've set to display on the front page). Even if it is on the front page, it can become difficult for the user to find the post on the page with so many posts already there.

Navigation for the user will become easier if you're having a page instead of a post.

It all depends on how much content you want to add.

The template I'm using allows me to select the posts I want on the first page if I put them in a seperate category so that's not a problem. But the posts being a problem is a good point. Since it's unique content perhaps I shouldn't clutter up the blog unless it's unique content, it'll be more like a static website but maybe it's better.

    Thanks

I suggest using posts, because pages takes a bit more to get indexed under google
