Posting transparent image in blog post?

    I have a question about posting this -- <img src="http://tinyurl.com/2mhqoy"/> in the body of a blog post. It's a transparent image. I did so, and it leaves a space between two words on either side of it. Am I supposed to add more tags?

    Don't laugh. I'm serious, I've never done this. :) Help me seasoned veterans.

    What does it do? Why do you need to post this transparent image?
