A while back I think I read somewhere that Google does not give the links inside comments on blogs much relevance because so many blogs where spammed with useless links. At the time I my thoughts were somewhere else and I was totally out of 'web promotion' mode. Is it so?
If the blog has a reasonably high pagerank, the links are do-follow and the niche is related to yours then you will benefit. I search for blogs that use the commentluv plugin.
This really has to do with whether or not the page rank of the blog has any value to it. If you are posting comments to blogs that have no relevance, no page rank or low page rank, then there is a good chance your backlinks will carry no value. However, if you are posting on high page rank sites, and your site is relevant to the blog itself, then your backlinks will carry more value and you will more than likely receive some good quality traffic from your posts. Whenever I do a search for relevant blogs I always look for do-follow that have a PR4 or above.
Yea, that's no doubt will be beneficial for anyone but you know its not that easy to get hold of PR 4+ blogs which are do-follow. Unless, you are a "Premium Member" of some good I.M forum where you have access to some "DO NOT SHARE" kinda lists

Blog commenting works best high authority sites on registratoin sites that heavily moderated. The problem of course is sneaking your link in. Sometimes you gotta just give up on trying to slip your anchor text in there and take what they'll give you.
