Posting of PM offers.....my 2 cents

I was wondering what everyone thinks of this.... I notice that on a lot of sales, people often put "received PM offer of xxx" Should it not be a rule that ANY and ALL offers be publicly made? I know that I have on a couple of occasions done this, but have since stopped. Why? Because no one actually knows that the offers were actually made!! I could just be jacking up the price. I am not saying that anyone does this here, nor am I accusing anyone, but in the intrest of openness and honesty, I firmly beleive that ANY and ALL offers should be posted on bidding/auction/takingoffers sales. To be quite honest, I can not think of 1 good reason that a person cannot make their offer be known to all.

I have seen the threads where this has happened and other people have said "well, tell them to post here" and the respose was usually " I have asked them to" Simple solution, accept no bids/offers if someone is not willing to publicly post them!!! Do not post offers on someone's behalf...Tell them to do it themselves or the offer will not be accepted!!

There may be nothing inapprpriate about PM offers, but it is the appearence of impropriety that makes buyers and sellers alike leery.

Another PM excuse I have seen is "it was posted on another forum" Fine, no problem...Provide a link to that 'offer'

Also, I am not talking about PM offers on fixed prices, as those are either sold or not.

As a new domainer, I beleive that people should conduct themselves in an open and professional manner, that makes domaining profitable and fun for all.

    Just my 2 cents!!!

Lets just get this out of the way... if you ever PM me offering your service, product, or heck, even your body... i'm not going to buy it.
