is it legal for anyone to post news articles by news agencies such as bloombergs, cnn, reuters on your own website with the source stated?

i read that they have copyright statements on their sites, but i seen some sites posting the full articles in there. so they have some kind of agreement to do that or what? is there some copyright law that allows news media to be used freely with stated sources or does this applies to fellow news agencies only?

what i am doing now is posting the 1st paragraph of the article and have a link back to the site i got it from. i suppose this is fine with the fair use rule.

Technically you can't repost any content if it's copyrighted without asking for permission from the owner. You can reword the story using your own words and report about it. The thing about big news agencies is that while it's technically illegal to post their material they tend to not chase after small websites that copy their content. Just be advised that they do own the copyright if you are cutting and pasting it. Links don't matter.

I was hired by a few individuals who give me the links and I rewrite them into my own news summaries so then they can post them. That's your bet really.
