I know the best links are one way links and even better if they are posted in sites that are relative to yours. But my question is what if you post a link in a forum that is not relative to your site but the title of the post is? For example: Posting a computer software link in a fitness forum but the thread title is: How can I find computer software for my gym? Anyone?
I think that if your target keyword is in at least two of the page title, H1 tag and URL then it will be seen as fairly relevant by the SEs and after all a link as you suggested above would be good for user experience and isn't that what they want to promote with all their guidelines etc?
Google does scan the page on which your link is located. If it deems that the link is on a page that is in your niche, then you will earn a little more link juice.
Yes, and relevance is playing more and more of a role... it will be exponentially important a year from now.
Thanks for all the replies, I always did think that they count a page as relative if it has content relative to your site although the site it is posted on is not...
This will not be much problem I hope. But nobody will discuss on non related forums. Me working on SEO never go for gym forum and do posting their and also my site are related to it.Any how BL from any non penalized or non spam site is good for u
It don't effect more because Forum links does not pass any PR (according to me ) But Its not harmful . Who knows that some people of that forum become your good customers
