    Hello-

I know that when you send a letter in the mail (snail mail) it becomes property of that person to do with what they want but what about email????? Specifically we own a celebrity site and we get emails everyday for that person. I kind of want to post them for everyone to read most are fun and I think people would enjoy reading them.

    What are the legal issues???

    Thx

If the email is being sent to the "celebrity" - they are not your property just because you own the site. Some sites have gotten into trouble for not making it clear that the site is not owned or authorized by the celebrity. If someone is sending email their email to your site, it could be used to make the case that this is not clear. I wouldn't adivse reposting an email that wasn't addressed to you unless you have the consent of the author.

If this is email that is sent to you that talks about the celebrity, then I would still get their permission or post a disclaimer that their email becomes your property and may be posted on your site.

    Mjewel- Good advice thanks!

Maybe I will add a forum and have a section where people can post letters may be cool.
