Posting Comments to Blogs - useful way to build links?

    hi

I want to post comments in response to blogs and use these to link back to my site. I have heard that some blogs are no follow or don´t allow you to post links in the comments - is this true?

If so, does anyone know which blogs allow you to put do follow links in?

Theres still the benefit of direct traffic from it, no follow only means the link doesn't pass pagerank.

A link is a link either way just like decaff coffee is still coffee. It won't do much for you but it still tastes gooooood.

Get the SEOQuake extension for Firefox. Then you can set it to put a line through all no-follow links.

Comment on every blog you can find related to your topic, it helps a lot. People will know you. This way, even if you don't get the link love, you get visibility, branding.

I agree with the previous poster, focus more on posting on blogs in your niche and dont' worry so much about no follow or do follow - concentrate on your sector and you will be rewarded with traffic and SERP love.

Many blog default as nofollow, but some of them make their blog as dofollow, you can find out the blog whether is dofollow or nofollow by using firefox addon - searchstatus

To see if a blog has no-follow links just view the page source, it will say rel="no follow"

What if you got a web directory site? It would mean every blog is related to your site. Would it affect PR if you don't discriminate between blog sites?

I agree with posting on other sites/blogs on the same niche. most of the time I just ask to exchange links with that owner

Commenting on others blog is really useful way to build backlinks. But you have to choose the suitable niche.

Find blogs in your niche. Then use NoDoFollow to see if the comment are dofollow or nofollow. But if the blog gets good traffic, leave a comment either way. ;)

Yes, it is true, but I don't care about it. It does not matter to me because what matters to me is the contribution I can give to the post.

For me, human effect is better than non-human effect. It is slowly, but surely and long lasting...

Just give quality comment to every blog related to your topic. This will drive traffic to your blog or website.

Yep! Some are no-follow and some are do-follow. As for whether they are useful or not, they are okay, at least they won't harm your site. In addition, you can get direct traffic :) :)
