I see some people build links by opening free blogspot/ blogger account just purely for posting one or two articles with links pointing to their sites. Is this an effective way of building links? Isn't this similar to posting pages on social bookmark sites like digg or squidoo or myspace?
If you'll link buid those blogs, it will be an effective source of backlinks. Its an additional workload on your part, but its worthy.
just opening up a blogger account and posting one article wont do you much help. you need to promote those pages also for google to index the page. and if you want PR backlinks, then you need to build links for those blog pages as well which is lot of work. but if you have an extensive link building campaign and can do it right, yes it can help
this is correct. A single post won't do much good. The blog needs to keep growing, and keep adding relevant unique content. Obviously, to do that effectively, you need to automate the process. Autoblogs may take a few weeks/months to 'get going', but then they rock.
yes it effective method, if you wanna get more benefit or extra popularity you start with, if you able to do something unique or can provide something hot related to topic and fresh than the others you get benefited more....
