posting an article on my site AND my forum... dup content?

On my website I post articles on their own subpages: /folder/article1.html

Then, in order to enable people to comment on the articles, I copy and paste it into a new forum thread in my phpbb forum.

Should I be concerned about getting hit because of duplicate content?

PS: the whole duplicate content thing is pretty frustrating.... so what if i want 10 copies of the same article on my website!

How do you guys get around this?
    Thanks.

Make some minor changes to the article before you submit it to the forum.

now for the million dollar question..........
    what are "minor" changes?

Are you saying that without them, I would be penalized?
I know no one really knows for sure but........

I think there is a misconception. You won't be punished, but only one of the articles will rank.
I think Google may be smart enough to figure out that this is not just another doorway page.

You should take into account the fact that the dup filter doesn't only include content.
IMO, you shouldn't be in great trouble as long as the pages don't look like complete copycats of each other in ever sense of the term.
