Posting a photo on a forum

I'm not sure where to go...so I'll just explain my situation here.

I have been posting on a music forum for 4 years. There was a thread where we all posted our pictures. However, one person used photoshop to make my picture very pornographic. It makes me sick to think this picture is on the internet. What can I do? I am very angry and irritated with myself for even thinking of posting a picture online. I would appreciate any advice on what to do.

Talk to the moderator of that forum, or the Admin. Assuming the picture is still on the forum.

he thought it was funny and refuses to take it down

The person that posted that picture, well I found out through his AIM where he lives, his myspace page (which included where he lives, his friends, where he works, where he went to school, etc).

I am so angry about this picture.

    Hi Minnesota,
There is really nothing you can do other than take legal action...and that could cost some money. If you have a lawyer friend then perhaps you could have him draft a letter to send to the forum moderator...decribing defamation of character and stuff.

Take it to the website host. They might threaten them with taking the website's hosting down if lewd photos are not allowed in their terms.

Is there any provision in the license agreement for the users of the site regarding pictures? If no, simply warn the guy and the admin about possible lawsuit. In 90% of cases it works...

Contact the admin first and threaten legal action if the photo is not taken down. If that doesn't work contact the host. If not hire a cheap lawyer and have him send some legal action documents to the site and I am sure at that point they will take the pictures down. If its an offshore forum and hosting theres not much else you can do other than try and bribe a mod or a admin. But what you have to realize is that its on the internet and most likely is backed up somewhere by now.
