Posting a link rather than copy and paste?

I've written a tutorial/guide/explanation on my blog but since it's highly likely it'll never get seen there (it's a brand new development blog, not indexed at all, no links from anywhere), I want to post the same article on here.

Would there be a problem with this and should I need to copy, paste and reformat in bbCode tags the article or would a link be allowed (and not seen as promoting just my own site)?

I think it's better if you post a part of your article together with a link to your blog, in the reviews section then have the other members review it. I don't see a problem with that.

As for your site not being indexed, Submit your blog to Google: http://www.google.com/addurl/ My blog was indexed two days after is submitted it there. Then submit your blog to link directories. Also, edit your signature and put a link to your blog there. :D

It's not that kind of blog really - basically I'm creating a site and for anything that I'm trying to do, if I haven't been able to find a really useful explanation for it somewhere, I'll try and work it out and post it on the blog. For instance I just wrote an article on how to create a wildcard/catch-all subdomain and thought it might be helpful to post in the Site & Server Administration section how to do it.

Thanks for the tips on getting it indexed and the like.

If you post a thread with nothing but a link, yes... it would get deleted.

    Thanks for the reply.

Not just a link though but this kinda thing (example):
Is it then permissible to add the link or should I copy and paste (which means lose the formatting or convert to bbcode)?
