I have been using Posterous for a week or so now, and it has completely blown my head clean off with the amount of time it saves me, so I am just wanting to see what other people think of this cool new blogging/social media platform. To give an idea of what it does, it is a blog platform that synchronizes with your social networking accounts and profiles in much a similar way that Tube Mogul does for Video Marketing. You post a blog via e-mail, and your statuses are updated everywhere from Twitter to Identi.ca and your blog posts can even be sent to a ton of other blogging platforms as well such as WordPress, Moveable Type, TypePad and Blogger. Anyway, what does everyone think of Posterous? Personally, I think it is going to be something to really keep a close eye on, and we are going to hear alot more about it in the very near future. You can sign up for a posterous account here if you havent seen it already.
thanks for letting us know. Had a look at their site and it looks very interesting. Will deficiently give it a try.
I will admit Posterous has grown by leaps and bounds since it first launched. Already PR7 and gaining tons and tons of members, I actually got an interview with them a while ago when they were first getting on their own two feet. It's pretty interesting to see how they've grown. http://www.insidethewebb.com/2009/10/behind-the-scenes-at-posterous-filesharing-made-easy/
I've never seen this before thanks for the share i'll definitely be checking it out and seeing if it's useful for me in any way.
Posterous is definitely one the the best as they come. The reason their colour schemes are way smoother than that of other blogging platforms (cough cough Blogger) is because they use vector graphics rather than pixels. And they're certainly way more flexible to use than other platforms - instant video embedding, email posts, image auto-upload just to name a few. Good choice in picking them. Cheers.
it will be good if posterous will link member blog thru their pr 7 page that way member can enjoy pr increase btw nice blog
I've been using posterous my personal site for almost a year now. It saves a ridiculous amount of time by syncing my facebook/twitter/flickr posts with just one email. Highly recommended.
thx for the post. I still don't understand it and is my first time hearing about it...I'll be checking this out.
There have been and continue to be plenty of other services which do the same. That being said I absolutely do not agree that it is a good idea to link all of those services, Twitter and FB are not the same thing...they should be treated as individual sites. I'd rather just pick 2-3 of them and do a good job at them instead of trying to be all things to all people.
thanks for letting us know, haven't heard about Posterous before. is it not something like socialposter? I am little bit confuse about this site though, i will give a try. thanks
Yeah, Posterous has been around for a little but now, but they are really starting to bust out now, especially with their content distribution onto social media. The only qualms that I have is that customization is not all that easy, with Javascript not being enabled yet, this poses a problem. However, you can do some pretty good things with it. My SEO Blog is hosted there, and with a bit of HTML tweaking, I have made it look pretty nice. Would be good to see some kind of widget intergration though
Posterous is definitely the most feature-rich blogging platform out there. I've already posted about their features before, but another great thing about them is that their founder/developers are only an email away - great customer service! Honestly, when I had a problem with some of the features, all I had to do was email the founders, and they got back to me within a couple of hours, with suggested advice for next time, the problem was troubleshot and they even tweaked a couple of features to work more efficiently in the process. Cheers. PG
I'm part of the "I don't get it" crowd with Posterous. I tried it out awhile ago and simply don't see the value. If I want a blog, I'd rather install Wordpress.org and simply log into it when needed - if I want a microblog, I'll use my Twitter account - as for this, I don't know where this falls.
Posterous is good but it needs time to reach , this helps when they promote in a better way than this (promoting in forums)
Honestly, prior to reading this thread I'd never heard of Posterous.. Will definitely have to give this a look, seems interesting.
