That's called LAZY not a mistake

 

My biggest mistake - spending on banner impressions and high PR links. I did all this initially - just within a week of my site launch (thought my site will be a runaway success if I market it heavily). Turned out - all that heavy marketing burned whole in my pockets.

After looking at the results, figured all that money I could have spent in a better way. Learned quickly and stopped myself from spending more on purchasing traffic, banner impressions and adwords. Now I spend only on web-hosting (no other alternative) and pay a couple of good article writers and link submitters. Over the last month, link popularity has gone north, so has incoming traffic, backlinks - all the good stuff for 1/10 I spent initially.

That could be a good niche (promise big to the noobs) - reap off nooobs

 

I think I will just post in this thread for a month. Im sure I can hit 1000 posts

 

Spending too much time researching SEO, and not enough time actually DOING it.

 

Spending too much BUILDING it; not giving enough time marketing it and LEARNING to market it.

 

Same as Grex... and registering to many domains that I will never use.

 

Spending far too much time
-looking at my traffic,
-looking at my Serps rank (every day)
-looking at my adsense,
-chatting on forums


but not building content, or increasing my links!

Content is what it’s all about

 

1. I was optimzing a clients site for a highly competitive keyword and mis-spelled the keyword by mistake! realised it after almost a week when the page was indexed by Google and the spelling error was showing in SERPs

2. Forgot to unpublish an adwords campaign and realised after a month that I had been getting traffic through adwords! Thank god it was my own site (and not a clients site) and i had set a low monthly budget

 

Got banned on the first day of adsense, I let my little cousin in my room while I was having a shower, he kept clicking on my ads.

Wont happen again lool

 

1) Spent over $1000 in Google Adwords with less than $100 profit.
Google Adwords is no good... I have tried it twice and now i devote time in marketing myself...

2) Spent a lot of time and price on link building and then figured out that i've been using some improper anchor text.
However, i have now learnt that anchor text is most important thing to keep in mind.

3) Oh yea, Adsense mistake - This is when me and my partner were earning like $20-$50 per day from Google and we try to show off in front of some guys, later they got our account banned from invalid clicks... lol, i cant forget that...
