Post to host sites - how they earn money?

    hey people:)
    well,i was wondering,have a lot of ' post to host' sites where when a user has a X number of posts in the forum ,the user can choose a free hosting packpage..or sometimes an free domain. Like this site,and this one too.
    so, how they earn money? adsense and affiliates only?

    yeah offers too,but i dont understand,because 2 years ago i had an active forum with 500 active users and i did nothing with adsense..so,if this happens with a post to host forum will not be good lol

    they usually have ads on them.

    or maybe they want to sell an active forum
