Should I write unique content for my site or should I write unique content, and then submit it to an article directly? i.e. is it better to write tons of article and put them on your own site, or instead write tons of article but post them elsewhere ?!
Both are necessary. To post some unique and new content to your site is search engine friendly. search engine likes new content absolutely. Article sites can povide with high quality backlinks and the good article sites may bring you some quality visitors as well.
Since the Panda update there is little benefit to write content for article directories... however there are a few still worth taking your time for, such as squidoo and maybe, probably, hubpages... the rest are pretty much not worth your time... most of the unique content should be going for your site.
Post content in both.But use unique and quality content.Also you can post content in blog.Blog posting and commenting can generate good traffic.

Hi I say use the fresh content for your website and then rewrites or spins for directories and creating blogspots and so on. Keep your spins clean, good English and all and well over 70% unique. Use thebestspinner, best in my opinion. Cheers
If your looking to build backlinks with some software. You got to get minimum of 100 pages of article.
Your site first, then various article directories. Despite what people say about Panda it is still a valid way to build links.
Do both, but do them differently. First, write the best version of an article, in most depth, for your own website. Then, create different articles from the same research to submit to article directories, such as creating a "10 tips for ...." article or write about a single idea from your main article. That way, you get maximum benefit from your research by creating a good article more likely to be linked to on your own site, plus shorter articles more suited to syndication to help get traffic/links to your site.
It would be much better if you will just post your article in your site's content. Though you can still post articles to article directories, just avoid duplicate issues.
Unique content must for all web, but if you write unique articles targeting keywords then post to your websites, I think post articles on your web site is better than say both, this is my practical knowledge. I don't care what other comments. Have a nice day to all.
