Post articles on my website or submit to article sites ?

Where's the best place to post my articles ?

Should I create an "articles about *****" section on my website and post them there or is it better to submit them to article submission sites ?

I've already sent a few to Ezine but have some lengthy articles that I'm wondering where best to place.

Google scores only one link per domain so submitting to ezine sites over and over does not help much SEO wise. It will drive some incremental users, it really depends on what your selling

For example if you sell music CDs, it is doubtful anyone will read an article and suddenly think "oh I want to buy the new White Stripes CD"

Best bet is to produce content for your site on a regular basis to make your site an authority on the topic and to keep the search spiders returning to your site.

This is where marketing and advertising agencies come into play. On the internet everyone becomes their own marketing agent and some are successful and some are scrambling looking for another way to advertise.

FUD is one concept I hear alot of. That is "Fear" Uncertainty" "Doubt". If you use FUD to find niches where people will be searching to calm their fears, cure their uncertainty or resolve their doubt you should have an angle that will work long term.

Selling music CDs is a tough one, but if you have a specific CD that allows you to angle FUD into it, then writing an article about the FUD will promote 1 CD and while the visitor is at your site they might bookmark it because you gave them the ultimate drug and they may come back next time they need some un-FUDing.

You should do both. Publishing new original content on your site is essential.
Do not submit the same content to article directories though. Rewrite it first for best results.

Post the original on your blog and then re-write it for the article directories

I would recommend posting them on your site because it gives your site more content, which of course Google likes.

    Here is a good solution:

Write the best article on your blog
Submit summary of that article to directory

doesn't google score 1 link per domain that points to a single page?

Say you have 10 pages on your website, you could get 10 articles, each linking to a different page, and milk a little bit more PR out of it, especially if you do proper onsite link building.

    do it all!

post your articles on eza, re-write and put them on your site, re-write again and break them down & make them blog posts - on your own hosted blog and blogger, re-write again and create squidoo lens etc, read your articles and add some pictures to create videos and submit to all the video sites thru tubemogul.

I find the best way to re-write an article is to read a paragraph 3 times and then type it out from memory - that way you get a comfortable feel about it while keeping the content totally relevant.

If you have 5 articles - you can get enough content for all of these methods and if you get your top 5 keywords - write the article around each keyword - then each one becomes a page and a blog post etc - you get the idea.

    Write yourself a schedule like...

    DAILY:
    Find new keyword and...
write 1 article - for eza
    re-write article for - webpage
break up & re-write article for 3 blog posts, self hosted
    re-write blog posts for blogger
re-write for squidoo lens or hub page or google knol or video (alternate these so you do only one each day)

    just a thought
