On a site I'm re-doing through WP, I'd like to be able to enable guest author accounts, so people can submit their own reviews, but to have the posts automatically queue for approval by me or the other site editor. Is there a way to do that, so they can only save as a draft essentially, and it would notify one of us that something is waiting for approval?
OK. I'd been looking specifically for ways to approve, so didn't come across the Contributor issue before. It looks like that solves at least part of the problem, by letting them only save as drafts. However, I'm still not seeing a mention of a way to have the system automatically notify editors and administrators when a draft is saved for their edits/approvals, which will be important (and I'd much rather that if a plugin exists somewhere than have to ask contributors to email us every time). Also, it says contributors can edit posts. Is there a way to alter their permissions to deny them the ability to edit? Once it's saved as a draft, we don't want them to be able to touch it again. All edits would be made by one of the editors. Thanks for your help! Jenn
Yes, that much I'd mentioned in the previous post already. My question is whether or not it can be set to email any editors or admins (both preferably) as soon as something is added by a writer and waiting for approval.
