POST 300 - Anonymous Abuse of the Reputation System - Goodbye for Now

That doesn't necesarily constitute abuse though in my opinion unless they are obscene (although I doubt many are shocked by that). I personally don't actively check reputation points and don't see the big deal. As someone stated earlier if a member gets good points then you hear nothing, if they get one bad one its suddenly abuse and the whole system is corrupt.

There a very few with Reds and those who do have them could care less about live links.

or one saying "lower case is ur friend" i mean how sad is that

 

I agree that the moron one is ridiculous but I would just look at that and know how much of a moron that person must be to write that.

As far as giving you a negative about writing in all caps, that wouldn't be considered abuse of the system in my opinion as people complain about that sort of thing on all forums. (By the way I didn't write that , I am just commenting on it - it may have been Minstrel )

I have been given bad rep, and it just goes right over my head. You would have to seriously care alot about the internet to let some random comment -from some annonymous person who you dont know and never will- bother you.

Someone commented ''difficult to read posts'' on mine. Like whatever, i am not speaking in a foreign language - so who does make stupid? exactly.

No, it wasn't me. I said what I had to say about the use of all CAPS as well as the thread hijacking in open forum. I haven't given Cherry and her friend any "rep" either way.

I have used the system to comment on other people's posts, though, positively and negatively. Like many others, I have received "negative rep" for posts that baffled me entirely but it isn't going to keep me awake nights wondering either why or who.

I look at it this way: If you are going to have an opinion at all and state it at all forcefully, sooner or later you are going to annoy someone who disagrees with you or just dislikes you. I can live with that.

 

Well said. It's just a fact of life. I think it would seen as the 'red badge of courage' to state what you believe rather than just say what you think others want to hear.

The other side of it is that out of 3,321 members there are 7 reds. That means that only .2% of people are even affected. Thats hardly an abuse (especially since PRbot got it for his massive amount of spamming)

I do realize if you are one of those 7 you may have a different opinion.

You have been getting bold of late on the comments about spamming and that some SEO is all spamming and I think some members are holding it against you. You are making some fuzzy comments here on forum and I think you are shocking some of your friends who never thought this was you.
