Hey everyone, I just received a dispute on PayPal which is very similar to tonerboss. The guy opened up a dispute saying that transaction was unauthorized. What pissed me off is that if he had contacted me first, I would refund immediately (because the submission was very recent) but no, the moron had to open a paypal dispute, and now I have to waste my time on the process. Not to mention the time spent for review process, fixing up his description, etc. Just wanted to warn everyone about the site: appliancefactoryparts.com in case you receive a submission from it. And with paypal being totally incompetent, this will probably become even more common
Can you compare IP addresses of the original purchase and the dispute? Can you correlate the website with the paypal account used? ie: can you be sure the payment was made with a phished paypal account and not the actual paypal account owner?
Lol --you are a little ahead of me. I received a submission from this guy on my PR6 directory yesterday and within couple of hrs I received the e-mail notification from Paypal regarding hold-up. I sent an e-mail to him immediately and he has not yet replied. Just few minutes back I wrote to Paypal explaining the situation and asked either to process the refund or gimme my funds back immediately. There could be another reason for this transactions being HELD-UP. He might have received some un-authorised funds from other clients and his account might have been Freezed and funds spent from that account are now being automatically held up. Anyway, hope -Paypal will resolve the case soon.
The email used with paypal is from the same site. That is all I know. However, I just wanted to warn people and I said it is possible that he is a scammer. Maybe he isn't, but I only wanted others to be aware of this if they come across the link.
Just checked Whois info --and it seems the site is very old. Registered -networksolutions.com Registrant: Ewing, Ken ATTN: APPLIANCEFACTORYPARTS.COM c/o Network Solutions P.O. Box 447 Herndon, VA 20172-0447 Record expires on 17-Jan-2010 Record created on 17-Jan-2000 Database last updated on 01-Jan-2007 So it seems its very old site. I think --there must be some problem with his Paypal which might not be his fault.
Thanks for letting us know, by they way Paypal should at least treat such idiots with scorn, if someone else used his account, its his own problem and he should take care of the security of his account rather than wasting others time!
